Festival “We succeeded in organizing the festival despite lacking resources. There were two remarkable panels exploring poverty and global warming, as well as a greatly varied workshop devoted to participatory approach of local televisions which was just an incremental phase of a bigger joint project to be executed in Marseille in 2011. We presented several talented young authors, directors and some twenty premiere films. In Europe on Screen, there was a a string of discussions with film authors. The Golden Beggar competition screening presented entries from 23 countries, including such exotic countries as Japan, China, or Lebanon. We are glad to have helped in a great extent to promote Kulturpark, the venue which is going to turn into a center of culture in Košice,“ concluded the festival's director Eva Děkanovská.
Jury The jury headed by Mr Ed Baumeister from the USA who worked virtually this time and for nearly a month could view and evaluate each programme in greater detail. On the whole, it awarded 7 programmes and bestowed four honorable mentions. Golden Beggar prizes were conferred for Best Local Television, Best Production Company, and Best Young Author.
