On the 9th March 2007 the 1. European Screening of Local TV Production took place at Media Centre in Belegrade.H.E. Igor Furdík, the Ambassador of Slovak republic for Serbia, made the opening of the Screening. At the screening, the best documentaries from the International Festival of Local Televisions, which takes place annually in Košice, Slovakia were shown. This event expresses the wish of its organisers to make the local production available to the other than a local viewer. The documentaries of Romanian TV Etalon, Serbian TV Èaèak, Bosnian ATV Banja Luka, Belorussian Skif TV Borisov but also of former Slovak chain of local televisions TV Global were about the ordinary people and their extraordinary fate in mostly unknown parts of the Europe. After the Krakow screening, this was the second European city, where the public was given the opportunity to see the best of the local televisions’ production. The screenings are organized by the City TV Foundation with the support of partners in Poland and Serbia. The event was held under the patronage of the Mayors of Košice, Krakow and Belegrade. In the near future screenings are intended to take place in other European cities.
