Call Girl

Call Girl

Synopsis

Film Call Girl is a first feature film directed by Mikael Marcimain, a renowned television director from Sweden. His courageous cinema debut is inspired by one of the most controversial political scandals of the 70’s. Several secretaries and politicians of Olof Palme government were accused of hiring a network of agencies to provide high profile officials, businessmen and celebrities with underage prostitutes. The film uncovers the dark side politically neutral state – the glittering world of strip clubs and erotic saloons, dirty apartments intended for illegal activity - through the story of a young Iris from the lowest strata of society. Marcimain’s film is exceptional in reconstructing the contemporary atmosphere and the need for social change. Call Girl received an International Film Critics Award FIPRESCI and the Toronto Film Festival in 2012.
