The document depicts Pavol Balla as a father and a husband who loves his family, but he's left alone because his children are all grown up and his wife left to work abroad. Therefore, he returns to his marmots. The documentary focused on Ball's several days long wait in extreme conditions in Žiarska valley, where marmots should come out of their lairs. However, while waiting, Balla is not only threatened by the cold weather or by the bears that are waking up, but also by dangerous avalanches, which are regular in this area in this time of year. Balla risks all this while at the same time it's not certain that the marmoths did not succumb to the harsh winter.
