In 1989, he was a twenty-one-years-old student, an initiator of student protests; today, he’s in his forties and he lived through some turn and twists, wins and disappointments. Jakub Špalek is driven and also consumed by his obsession with theatre. His house near Prague is gradually being filled with sets and costumes; Jacob's wife and two daughters, however, left. There is a new beginning waiting behind the corner – one of the toughest decisions to be made. The film is about finding the balance between freedom, responsibility for others and artistic principles – it’s about 23 years of life of one of the leading figures of Czech theatre.
